Every year, the Butte Humane Society is inundated with endless litters; without Paws of Chico it would be worse. We helped spay/neuter over 2800 dogs and cats. Their owners; the disabled, students, low-wage earners, the unemployed, the elderly, are profoundly grateful they had a choice...no unwanted pups and kittens.

Now, you can help us help the cats and dogs in Chico. You can contribute to Paws of Chico S/N Program through the Annie B's Community Drive from August 1 - September 30 (sponsored by the North Valley Community Foundation).

Yard Sale May 14

Yard sale to help the cats and dogs in Chico


Useful items, jewelry, paintings, clothing, pet items, collectables, furniture, sports, and more will be for sale on Saturday, May 14 from 7:00 A.M. - 3:00 P.M. at 1454 Arch Way in Chico. All proceeds from this yard sale will help Paws of Chico continue to assist cat and dog owners with the cost of spay and neuter. Paws also helps individuals dealing with stray and feral cats find solutions by lending traps and supporting neuter/spay and release.

Donations for the yard sale are being accepted. Call 570-6990 to make arrangements to contribute items that would benefit Paws.

Large Dog Spay/Neuter - April/May Special

Paws of Chico Spay & Neuter Program provides financial assistance with the cost of spaying or neutering your large dog (40 lbs. or over). We help dog owners who are struggling to pay bills, who without our help, would not be able to “fix” their large dog.

For the months of April/May we can offer the following pricing:

Male Dog 40 lbs. and over: $40
Female Dog 40 lbs. and over: $50

Please write "April/May Special" on your application. You will be contacted by one of our volunteers within one week after receiving your application. Prices will be honored if your application is received by May 31st.

Mangrove Veterinary Hospital supports Spay Day 2011!

Rhonda Montgomery is picking up her cat Titan, from Tina Miller, a receptionist at the Mangrove Veterinary Hospital.

Paws Spay Day 2011 event was held on February 26th. With the help of Mangrove Veterinary Hospital, 45 female cats and 30 male cats are now S/N. We have prevented at least 158 kittens from being born this Spring. Thank you Mangrove Veterinary Hospital for being a partner with Paws. This was the first low cost spay/neuter clinic event in Chico!!

Paws of Chico Spay & Neuter Program can help with the cost of having your cat spayed or neutered, if you absolutely cannot afford to do it without our assistance.  Butte Humane Society now has a low cost spay/neuter clinic open to the public.  Check out prices on their website at www.buttehumane.org   You may not need us after all!

WHEN:  Saturday, February 26^th

Female Cat:  $25 Minimum (The more you can pay, the more people we can help!) (3 months and older)  

 Male Cat:  $25 Minimum (4 months and older. BOTH TESTICLES MUST HAVE DROPPED) 

HOW TO APPLY:  Send in an easy to fill out application. Download one from our website at www.chicospayneuter.org or call (530) 895-2109 to request one.  You may also pick one up at Butte Humane Society or Shalom Thrift Store located at 250 East First Street. You will be contacted by one of our volunteers within 3 days after receiving your application.  Hurry, space is limited.

Your cat can become pregnant as early as 4 months old!  Now is the perfect time to spay, before she goes into heat!   There are too many cats and not enough homes for all of them. We still have a surplus of kittens and cats from last season waiting for a home.

Your cat will become pregnant this spring…it is a sure thing.  Please help with our cat overpopulation so ALL cats can find a loving home.

Mangrove is offering low cost vaccinations at this event.  FVRCP or Rabies vax are $10.
